Fresh food from the Cheshire countryside

A wide variety of food from both sides of the Welsh border is on offer at Davenports in Acton Bridge, near Tarporley. The theme is Alice in Wonderland as author Lewis Carroll was born a mile from here.

The French port of Granville

Less than two hours drive from the channel ports of Cherbourg and Caen, Granville is both a charming seaside resort and a hardworking seaport – France’s biggest for shellfish. It is famed for ‘fruits de mer’ as well as the other Normandy specialities of cider, Calvados and crepes.
